I've just uploaded my teams first game! Mde in less than two weeks by a group that didn't know each other before we started and with no prior planning or warning, we did it, and I couldn't be happier with the results.

Hello to all, especially my precious fans who have decided to follow me in this small corner of the internet.


As I might be lucky enough to get a few more after some upcoming releases I thought I’d take note of who is already here. I’ve been getting more active in art and dev community stuff since the start of the year and have caught the bug so I’m here for more.


For the 42 fans at the point of this post, even the one’s FAR more accomplished than I am, and including the one’s I’ve already done stuff for or talked to about it, (and I think 2 that I owe finishing some older WIPs from a free art post) I’d like to do more.


I’ll be slowly (oh so slowly) offering to make a pixel character for all of you in the simple style I’ve been posting. That is if you want them, and putting them into a big group pic at the end.


This will be after I’m done doing the same for people who were involved in the same art challenge event as I was in March, so there will be plenty of time to say yes/no to my attempts at art.

I ended up in a game jam with a bunch of people taking part in a month long art challenge I joined to push myself a bit (the challenge is not the jam), and I’m currently mid project, acting mainly as writer and project coordinator, and as it has a deadline it will be released at the start of next month, it's looking good.


I’m ALSO with a collaboration I started in February, that is so close to release I am jumping up and down in my seat waiting for the final video to be ready for upload.


The chance to work with these talented artists, musicians, coders, voice actors and generally all around skilled people after having to focus on the day job for a long while has been great, doubly so as I finally took the time to get comfortable with Ren’py, which I will be using a lot more of in future, and opened doors to future projects.


If you have gotten this far in the post then watch this space, I will be on the hunt for collaborators for a visual novel soon, and separate to that I am looking at how best to do a join in/audience participation kinetic novel over on the forums at some point.

With work taking over the last year I wanted to see ahead of time if I could manage a daily piece before drawtober, so September has been daily pixel characters of the quickest and simplest variety. For October I'm planning to do the same for backgrounds so they all have somewhere to hang out.

Then it is time to look at a rather long to do list of overdue projects.

Everyone has been hard at work, so it is about time to announce a few members of the team and hint at what is to come.


The demo level's entry area (which no one is responsible for the rough squiggles other than me) and some of the enemies as drawn by Friedk0i , who joined in to expand their skills and has made some visually appealling enemies for us so far, give their profile a visit to see their usual work.

The wider level map and flow is also ready and waiting for the artistic touch, how much will see the trailer still to be decided, blur purely to not look like I drew the level in Paint.

And last but most certainly not least, someone has been working crazy hard to voice the main protagonist.


You can all look forward to her being fully voiced for the trailer as she jumps, dodges and squirms in the clutches of her enemies thanks to the efforts of BunnyAudio , you can't miss heading over to her profile for a sign of things to come.

Catcher bot and one other enemy interaction in the works, with the rest planned out after those, it's been a great project to get started with and I hope people can join us as we sink our teeth into working on bringing it to life.

I've been on the daily grind in the offline world this week, definitely could use a week of sleep right now.


But while I've been doing that the artist and VA have been hard at work, I'm really impressed, and I have my work cut out animating and stitching it together for the first mini animation (a week ish from now hopefully)

With an excellent voice actress and great new pixel artist, as well as a musician/audio tech I'm eager to talk more with and support from a few others, I couldn't have asked for more from my little collab.


I'll be setting up all the things we need to work towards the same end result and am really looking forward to working with them while I get the style sheets and level design roughed out and ready to work some magic on.


Watch this space for some sort of first sneak peak once things have been pulled together from the respective creatives.

Only a little work this time, I needed a downed player to work with for the catcher pick up animation so I tried a few variations, I think I'll go with this one and maybe one other depending on how the player is knocked down and have how the catcher picks her up change depending on which she is in when interacted with.

Two of the five hostile NPC for the level I'm working on now have their finished design, and a voice actress is working on samples for the player character.


The capture bot (and 2/3 of the other bots) is going to be a lot easier to animate than the guard and player so I suspect that will get completed first. Still lots of messing with the color pallet and maybe the outfit of the player to be done.


This project is now M/A rated, a lewd platformer, as I talked to a few people who are interested and whose work is that way inclined, the trailer will most likely come out M, but the content of the hypothetical game and some of the assets that are created will be A enough that's it's best to be safe.


I'll be putting together a SFW project at some point too as I want to work with as many people as possible and not cut people out because of the rating they work at.

A little more thought and a chat with a few artists and voice actors later, I think these are enough mobs to be getting on with for now.


Random collab plans so far - A short (staged) 'play through' while interacting with enemies, maybe lose and restart a few times, and then a cutscene conversation with an NPC or boss.


Relaxed project, open to focusing on parts that people want to highlight in their own work.


Wanted - Voice actors, music and sound effect creators, and perhaps artists for the cutscene.


If you think of something else that could be showcased in a game mock up don't be afraid to reach out.


Also - can you guess how each enemy attacks?

(I changed from E on my last post to M on this one as two of the people I spoke to are more focused on that work and a game that impresses me does too, but still let me know if you want to do something, I'm probably going to mock up a few games over the next few months and see if any really grab me/others.)
